What we have done so far...

What we plan to do in the future?

1.1 Information and Publicity for people Produce a web directory
• Finish gathering information from organisations
• Agree format
• Write section introductions
• Agree design
• Agree update system

1.2 Provide Carers with advice and support • Research interest from Carers via schools and colleges

• Set up or join existing telephone advice line involving carers who have experience of employment

1.3 Hold an Employment event • Decide on the message
• Decide on the audience
• Decide other events to link with

2.1 LDPB projects Monitor the two funded projects

• Receive a report on progress at each meeting from one project
• Monitor and steer progress
• Provide Support and Help

3.1 Employment development Identify Progress so we learn what works and what doesn’t

• Find out how many people are working now (base line)
• Record how many people are working every 12 months
• Improve recording methods, so we get true picture

3.2 Clarify what we mean by “employment”
• Make the definitions of employment and volunteering better

3.3 Link activity into Valuing People objectives
• List the objectives, and link to employment
• Link to other sub groups for joint action

4.1 Barriers Identify the barriers to employment that people in Wigan face, and find ways to overcome them
• Talk to people who are working and find the barriers they face(d)
• Talk to people who would like to work but can’t about the barriers they face
• Decide how to take action on the barriers

5.1 Sub group We want the sub group to work better so that everyone can join in, and feel that we are making progress
• Set up resource file
• Improve communication styles in meetings and of information
