  • The Partnership Board will provide a focus for the implementation of Valuing People Now and Putting People First.
  • The Partnership Board will continue to contribute to the development and implementation of the  Transforming Social Care Agenda and the Personalisation Agenda
  • The Partnership Board will forge strong links with and report to the Health and Well Being Board
  • The Partnership Board will continue to complete the Annual Self Assessment Report  which will enable Wigan to compare progress with neighbouring Local Authorities. The report will also  inform the JSNA and Commissioning Strategy.
  • The Partnership Board will be represented at Regional and National Forums to exchange information, share ‘good practice’ and provide leadership
  • The Partnership Board will continue to promote the work of the Board and maintain its local, national and international reputation in recognition of good practice 
  • The Partnership Board will continue to promote and share good practice across relevant departments within the Council.
  • The Board will continue to co-produce initiatives in partnership with other departments and  third sector  organisations to meet the objectives of Valuing People Now and the TSC agenda.
  • The initiatives will be monitored and reviewed for impact, quality and value for money
  • Self Advocates/Service Users and Family Members will remain central to the consultation and co-production  process
  • Policies which affect the Learning Disabilities Service in the Borough will be discussed by the Board.
  • Lead officers will present recommendations made by the board to influence policy development .
  • Service provision and quality will be monitored to ensure they meet assessed need within the Borough.
  • The Partnership Board will follow a democratic process of consultation in making decisions within the Partnership Boards remit.
  • Where decisions regarding learning disability issues are beyond the remit of the Partnership Board, the Board will make contributions to other decision making processes by presenting recommendations to the decision makers
