Valuing People Objective:

Fulfilling Lives

What we have done so far.....

Involved self advocates in interviewing staff.
Consulted with self advocates in advertising for staff
Involved the drama group in the delivery of staff of training
Developed a partnership approcah to workforce planning.
Created accessible information.
Introduced one page plans to self advocates and staff and start the process of skills matching
Introduced competancy frameworks.
Introduced LDQ and Knowledege Sets
Participated in national projets including In control, Skills for Care 'New types of worker' and B.I.L.D ' New ways of supporting people, new ways of supporting the workforce'

What we plan to do in the future?

Evaluate and develop ongoing projects
Promote the involvement and develop self advocates skills to participate in meetings, recruitment and selection, training staff and policy development
Publish a workforce plan based on workforce data which identified trends, potentail gaps and influnced service provision.
Ensure person centred approaches are incorporated into training and development activities and service delivery.
Redesign job descriptions and person specifications to focus on competencies and person centred approaches
Target recruitment from a range of people, i.e. range, gender, ethnic minority groups.
Promote stability in the workforce.
Widen partnership working and data collection to engage health services as well as the private and voluntary sectors
Develop skills matching
Raise the awareness of self directed support and the future vision of social care.
Ensure workforce skills are appropriate to need.
